Writing is persuading people with different uses of media whether it be a documentary, music piece, or actual literature. The writing process starts by establishing who, what, when, where, and why to hep tell your story in the genre of your choosing. Genre is very interesting to me, it’s the category of your writing. Before reading this chapter I didn’t know that genre’s could fall into multiple categories. Blog writers are the easiest example of this to me, because although blogs are a genre, the genre of their writing is usually personal narrative. All the blogs I've read are personal accounts telling stories to persuade their readers to look at the world a certain way. When doing personal narratives I thought that’s all it was or could be. That was very hard for me. I realized instead of a personal narrative I could probably do a memoir or blog using my personal accounts instead of trying to remember something that happened to me in the 6th grade.
