In text citations in my opinion are the best way to cite your sources. Making them flow into your essay makes your statement sound more reliable, but also makes you sound more educated. Along with being the best for your reader, it can help you avoid plagiarism as well, because you are citing your sources right when you use them, which may be tedious but pays off if you're not in jail! For me, in text citations have always been the easiest because you don't have to cite the exact line at that moment, but put something in there to remind myself to find it afterwards. I have used in text citations in all of my work except for one essay that specifically asked for it not to, and it was very hard for me afterwards to avoid plagiarism. I personally think in text citations are the way to go.
