Viral marketing is one of the reasons I stopped using various forms of social media. I hate that they spam my instagram account and make it impossible to enjoy looking at my friends pictures. On the first example of viral marketing, they had a new age of entertainment and they knew it would be useful and people would love it. If viral marketing was always that inventive then I don't think there would be any debate over the occasional viral market. In today's world the new thing being marketed is coming up on every third post. Viral marketing is a good idea in theory, I don't believe it is working based on a statistic of how many of my friends got anything from it.
